Sunnyvale Mojo put together a strong all-around performance on Sunday, October 4, defeating NGSL-2 by a score of 7–3.
Mojo got off to a fast start, with Isha K delivering a two-run double in the first inning. The offense continued rolling in the second, with Akshara G, Brooke L, and Bridget D contributing RBI singles. Bridget led the team with two hits, while Mojo collected 10 stolen bases throughout the game.
In the circle, Bridget D delivered two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, while Isha came in to provide relief. Defensively, Mojo played a clean game without committing an error.
It was a great team effort and another opportunity for the players to build confidence and continue developing their skills throughout the fall season.
Up next: Mojo travels to face WVS-3 this Sunday.
Great job, Mojo!

Sunnyvale Toothfaires Learning the Game and Having Fun!

Our youngest SGSL players, the 6U Sunnyvale Toothfaires, were back on the field this weekend for a fun two-inning game against Branham Hills Girls Softball League (BHGS).
At the 6U level, it’s all about learning the basics, building confidence, and developing a love for softball. From hitting and running the bases to learning where to throw the ball, our Toothfaires are making progress each time they take the field.
Despite the warm weather, the girls enjoyed their time on the field, got in some great practice, and managed to beat the heat!
Great job, Toothfaires! Keep learning, smiling, and having fun!
Thank You to Our Fall Sponsors!
A big thank-you to our Fall sponsors, Mojo Break Cardshop and Keller Wright Orthodontics, for supporting SGSL and our players.
Team Mojo and Team Break would like to give a special thank-you to Mojo Break Cardshop for sponsoring their teams this season. The Drillers and Toothfairies also extend their appreciation to Keller Wright Orthodontics for supporting their teams and helping make the Fall Rec season possible.
Community sponsors play an important role in helping SGSL provide opportunities for young athletes to learn, compete, and grow through softball at an affordable price. We encourage our families to support these local businesses and thank them for investing in our league and players!

Shockwave 12U Battles at Pink Out Tournament

The Sunnyvale Shockwave 12U had a strong showing at the Pink Out Tournament in Fremont, finishing Saturday’s pool play with a 2–1 record.
Shockwave opened the weekend by avenging its previous loss to the WC Rebels with a convincing 9–4 victory. After a tough game against Apex Berry, the team bounced back with an 8–2 win over the California Lady Bulldogs to close out Saturday.
On Sunday, Shockwave faced Extreme McMahan in a hard-fought matchup. Trailing early, the team battled back to tie the game in the fourth inning on a clutch RBI single by Quinn L. The game went into an international tiebreaker, where Extreme pulled ahead to secure the win. Despite the loss, Shockwave outhit Extreme 7–4, with Quinn L, Emmy C, and Kamila A each collecting two hits. Quinn also drove in two runs, while Emmy added two stolen bases.
It was a great weekend of growth and determination for our 12U team, showing resilience and the ability to bounce back against strong competition.
Up next: Shockwave heads to the Field of Scream Tournament in San Bruno, October 16–17, looking to build on this weekend’s success.
Great job, 12U! Go Shockwave!
Shockwave 10U Earns Gold Bracket Berth in First Tournament

The Sunnyvale Shockwave 10U made an impressive debut at the Pink Panther Tournament, earning a spot in the Gold Bracket on Championship Sunday in their first tournament together.
This young team showed plenty of fight throughout Saturday. Shockwave nearly completed a five-run comeback against Livermore Smoke, with Haley A collecting two hits and Ava D and Haley helping lead an aggressive effort on the bases.
The team’s biggest performance came against the Dublin Banshees. Alessandra P was outstanding in the circle, allowing no hits while striking out eight over four innings. Shockwave also showed patience at the plate, stole seven bases, and played solid defense to earn its Gold Bracket berth.
On Championship Sunday, Shockwave faced a strong Corona Angels Nichols/Faria team. While their tournament run ended Sunday morning, reaching the Gold Bracket in their first tournament was a great accomplishment for a young group that is just beginning to learn how to play together.
The weekend also ended with a special recognition as Ava D received the Best Teammate Award, recognizing the positive impact she had on her teammates throughout the weekend.
A great start for this young team, with plenty to build on as the fall season continues.
Go Shockwave!
See you on the field,
