Shockwave Sweeps at 2015 Blast By The Bay
Sunnyvale Shockwave had one of the best tournaments in the history of the program at the Blast By the Bay tournament in Soquel the weekend of July 10th 2015. All three teams participating (10U, 12U, and 14U) went undefeated, a combined 15-0 on the weekend bringing home a championship in each of the three divisions.
The 10U “Bold” or “Glue” depending on your preference was a combined effort by our two 10U teams (Gold and Blue). Due to a snafu from the tournament, both teams shared the slot with Shockwave Blue taking care of business winning the first two games on Saturday, Gold finished off an undefeated Saturday with a victory over LG Magic then went 2-0 Sunday to win the Championship.
On Sunday, the 12U Gold posted a comeback 5-4 semifinal victory over Mountain Dream, followed by a 3-2 win over the Hollister Heat to take first place.
The 14U team staged a late inning rally against Campbell Crush to come from behind and win their championship game.
SGSL Shockwave extends our thanks to the Cabrillo GALS Softball League for hosting a great tournament.
