Shockwave Update

Shockwave 14U Goes Undefeated in Jack Ball Tournament Pool Play

Sunnyvale Shockwave 14U put together an impressive weekend at the Jack Ball Tournament, sweeping Saturday’s pool play 3–0 and earning the top seed in the Gold Bracket.

Shockwave opened with a 3–2 victory over Team California, powered by Aashvi Kadakia’s complete-game performance. Kadakia allowed just one earned run over five innings, while Ellie Gerrard delivered an RBI single during a three-run second inning. The team followed with a 6–2 win over SPIN FALL, breaking a tie with four runs in the fourth. Gerrard earned the win without allowing an earned run, and Sreshta Paranji led the offense with two RBIs.

Saturday finished with a 16–4 victory over the Delta Damsels, as Shockwave collected 11 hits and eight walks. Abby Lopez-Galyon, Kadakia, and Geneva May each contributed two hits, while Paranji drove in four runs.

Sunday brought a rematch with the Damsels and a hard-fought 4–2 loss. Sofia Poo’s RBI double and May’s RBI single gave Shockwave a third-inning lead, but the Damsels rallied to move ahead. May finished with two hits, and Kadakia went the distance, allowing just one earned run over six innings.

Although the bracket result wasn’t the finish they hoped for, Shockwave finished 3–1, outscoring opponents 27–12 across the weekend. Strong pitching, timely hitting, and contributions throughout the lineup gave this team plenty to be proud of. Way to represent Sunnyvale, Shockwave!

Shockwave 12U Wraps Up Fall Season at Field of Screams!

Our Sunnyvale Shockwave 12U team closed out its Fall 2026 season at the Field of Screams Tournament this past weekend, finishing with a 1-3 record against some tough competition.

The team opened Friday with a hard-fought 6-5 loss to San Carlos Select, highlighted by a four-run third inning. Alice Tdelivered a two-run double, while Quinn L went 2-for-2 at the plate.

On Saturday, Shockwave bounced back with an impressive 12-2 victory over the SM Comets! Tal V led the offense with four RBIs, while Kamila A pitched three strong innings, striking out three without allowing a walk. The team also collected an incredible 20 stolen bases and played error-free defense!

The team later fell 6-0 to the Santa Cruz Crushers, despite six strikeouts from Quinn L. On Sunday, Shockwave wrapped up the tournament with a 12-5 loss to LGCS Magic, with Alice T, Emmy C, and Kamila A each collecting two hits. The team also stole 11 bases and once again played error-free defense.

While the tournament results didn’t always go their way, our 12U players showed determination, teamwork, and continued growth throughout the weekend.

A big thank you to our coaches, players, and families for their dedication and commitment throughout the Fall season! We’re proud of the progress this team has made and look forward to seeing these athletes continue to develop.

Great season, Shockwave 12U! 💙💛🥎

Shockwave 10U Shows Fight at End of Fall Classic

Sunnyvale Shockwave 10U showed determination at the End of Fall Classic at San Lorenzo Community Park, finishing the weekend with a thrilling Silver Bracket battle that came down to the final play.

Saturday opened with a 14–2 loss to the Redhawks, with Haley A, Grace (GG) G, and Helen D each collecting a hit. Shockwave bounced back against San Lorenzo Heat in a 9–9 tie, rallying for three runs in the fourth inning. Janelle S delivered the game-tying single, Everly W went a perfect 2-for-2, and Haley contributed a two-run double. Aggressive base running added 12 stolen bases.

The team closed pool play with a 15–1 loss to the Diamond Queens, but Alessandra P delivered an unforgettable highlight: an immaculate inning, striking out all three batters on just nine pitches! Lucy G added a hit and two stolen bases.

Sunday’s Silver Bracket rematch against the Diamond Queens showed how quickly Shockwave could regroup. The team jumped ahead 4–0 and continued battling as the Queens answered. Sieun (Sienna) K stole home to put Shockwave ahead in the fourth, and the team took another lead in the fifth before falling 7–6 on a walk-off. Alessandra struck out nine, Haley collected two hits, and Shockwave stole eight bases.

While the weekend ended with a heartbreaking loss, the leap from Saturday’s matchup to Sunday’s one-run battle gave this team plenty to be proud of. Keep working, keep growing, and keep bringing that Shockwave fight!

See you on the field,

Daniel Poo
